Email Phishing and Telephone Scam
Charles Choy
IT Security Officer

We continue to receive a lot of targeted phishing emails attempting to steal users’ passwords. These emails became even more sophisticated and it is not easy to differentiate them from a legitimate email sent by ITSC. If you do not want to be the next victim, visit our new email phishing web site to learn the characteristics of these phishing emails. More details can be found at

Furthermore, ITSC has prepared a short online training course, together with a quiz, which aims to raise the cybersecurity awareness of our users on Email Phishing. Users are suggested to try it out at :

Apart from email, telephone deception is also getting popular in recent months and some of our office phone numbers are targeted. More details of these deceptions can be found at the web site published by the HK Police Force.
