Foreword
Samuel Kwan
Director, ITSC
An exciting new academic year has just started.   We are grateful that most of the necessary upgrades and preparation works for the campus IT environment have been completed by now, despite the visits of quite a few typhoons and thunderstorms.

In this issue of Channel Newsletter, updates on our IT environment and new services will be highlighted.  These changes aim at leveraging the latest development in cloud computing to better support our teaching, learning and research activities, and protecting us from emerging cybersecurity threats.

IT continues to develop rapidly and has enabled those who are in the know to conduct teaching, learning and research more efficiently and effectively. To this end, we have launched the IT Support Forum and renewed the ITSC Student Internship Program with an aim to keep the knowledge and expertise of our departmental IT colleagues as well as student interns up-to-date. They are essentially the IT change agents who will ensure the University continues to be well positioned in the use of IT.

On behalf of all colleagues in ITSC, we look forward to working with you on increasing the value of IT to your work and study, and wish you a fruitful and enjoyable new semester.
