With our growing intake of Mainland students, it is wonderful news that Mr Ho Ming Sze has donated $8 million towards establishing a scholarship fund for outstanding Mainland undergraduates with financial needs, through the Ho & Ho Foundation Scholarships. The Scholarship fund will give preference to students from the “Red Triangle Region” on the Mainland, i.e. the cities of Shaoguan in Quangzhou, Ganzhou in Jianxi, and Chengzhou in Hunan. The number of recipients may vary from year to year depending on the caliber of students. But one thing is for sure, these scholarships will not only help HKUST attract more outstanding Mainland students but also further the cultural exchange of students.
