Young Academics in the Spotlight of the Mainland

Three PhD alumni from Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management have been spotlighted in a National Natural Science Foundation of China article in the Journal of Management Sciences in China (September 2011 issue). The report reviewed the mainland China scholars' publications in leading international management science journals. A total of 11 papers were featured.

Ke Fu's "Optimal Component Acquisition for a Single-Product, Single-Period Assemble-to-Order System with Expediting" was published in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. It was co-authored with V N Hsu and C Y Lee. Weixin Shang looked at "Promised Delivery Time and Capacity Games in Time-Based Competition", which appeared in Management Science. It was co-authored by L M Liu. Weihua Zhou co-authored "Optimal Control of an Assembly System with Multiple Stages and Multiple Demand Classes" with S Benjaafar, M Elhafsi and C Y Lee. Their study appeared in Operations Research. Dr Fu and Dr Shang received their PhDs in 2006 and Dr Zhou graduated in 2007.
