In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, over 300 alumni, students and friends from industry congregated for a fabulous seminar-cum-dinner organized by the Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association.
"Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Related Infrastructure Projects" was the topic of the seminar, which featured three guest speakers from the Hong Kong Government's Highways Department and industry, who shared their professional experiences regarding this mega project.
Vice-President Dr Eden Woon joined the celebration as guest-of-honor, and was presented with a donation of HK$10,000 for the Alumni Endowment Fund by CEEAA President Derrick Leung, accompanied by Professor Christopher Leung, Head of Department. Professor Leung also presented the annual Outstanding Alumni Award to Dr Morgan Yang, a graduate of PhD(CIVL) in 1996 and currently Regional Director of AECOM, in recognition of his remarkable career achievements and relentless contributions to research in structural engineering.
