Who are we?

What do we do?

We hope you are adapting to the HKUST environment well. On behalf of ITSC, I would like to welcome you and give a brief introduction of ourselves. As a unit providing IT services to the campus community, we are here to serve you!

Our major activities include:

  1. IT Infrastructure
    • Maintain the campus network and enterprise infrastructure (e.g. central user directories, user authentication, telephone system, etc.)
    • Maintain the campus IT security with appropriate hardware, software and policies
    • Maintain central teaching facilities (e.g. computer barns, lecture theaters, classrooms, etc.)
    • Design and support the general desktop and office computing environment
    • Develop university-wide standards and IT policy
  2. Enterprise Systems
    • Maintain central servers and provide central email, www home page, storage and other services
    • Maintain central e-learning systems
    • Provide support to central research and academic computing activities
    • Provide system support to administrative computing
  3. User Support and Training
    • Maintain the central service desk to support general users
    • Provide support to departmental IT staff
    • Coordinate and provide training in IT
