What do we do?
We hope you are adapting to the HKUST environment well. On behalf of ITSC, I would like to welcome you and give a brief introduction of ourselves. As a unit providing IT services to the campus community, we are here to serve you!
Our major activities include:
- IT Infrastructure
- Maintain the campus network and enterprise infrastructure (e.g. central user directories, user authentication, telephone system, etc.)
- Maintain the campus IT security with appropriate hardware, software and policies
- Maintain central teaching facilities (e.g. computer barns, lecture theaters, classrooms, etc.)
- Design and support the general desktop and office computing environment
- Develop university-wide standards and IT policy
- Enterprise Systems
- Maintain central servers and provide central email, www home page, storage and other services
- Maintain central e-learning systems
- Provide support to central research and academic computing activities
- Provide system support to administrative computing
- User Support and Training
- Maintain the central service desk to support general users
- Provide support to departmental IT staff
- Coordinate and provide training in IT
