PhD Student Orientation of School of Business and Management
The PhD Student Orientation was held on the morning of September 6, 2013, followed by a lunch gathering at the staff lounge of the Lee Shau Kee Business Building.  This is an annual event to welcome new MPhil/PhD students and a great occasion for new and senior students to meet with their fellows, the Dean and program coordinators.

More than 50 RPg students participated in the orientation event.  Prof. Inchi Hu, Director of the School's MPhil/PhD programs, kicked off the event by introducing our honourable guests from the Office of Postgraduate Studies office: Prof. Mordecai Golin, Associate Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies, and his colleagues Ms. Kennis Chan and Ms. Jacqueline Hui.

Prof. Kalok Chan, Acting Dean of HKUST Business School gave a welcoming speech.  In his remarks, Prof. Chan reiterated the School's commitment to research, and the opportunities students would have during study in the HKUST Business School.  He also expressed his expectations and wishes to the students.

Following Prof. Chan's welcoming remarks, Prof. Hu introduced students to Program Coordinators of each program, and gave a presentation on the PhD program, which provided rich information to students about what they would expect from the program and what kind of support they could get, in the hope that this would be helpful to them in terms of planning for the next several years program of study.

A group photo was taken before the lunch buffet started.  During lunch, students and faculty members shared their experiences and had had a fruitful and delightful time.
