The Lee Shau Kee "LSK" campus was officially opened in September 2013. At present, the LSK campus has two buildings, namely "Lee Shau Kee Business Building' and the "HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study Lo Ka Chung Building".
The first fire drill at the LSK campus was conducted by HSEO on 20 March 2014. It involved all students, staff, contractors and security personnel in the area. Fire officers from the Po Lam Fire Station also participated in the drill.
Why did we carry out the fire drill?
- To comply with the University safety policy.
- To allow students, staff, contractors and security personnel at Lee Shau Kee campus to get familiar with the fire evacuation procedure.
- To allow HSEO, FMO, Security Control Center and relevant DSOs to assess the effectiveness of the fire safety management procedures.
- To identify any areas where the fire service installations were not functioning properly.
In the fire drill, we observed that occupants in the area were able to evacuate safely and the whole fire drill was completed in 20 minutes.
