We are pleased to introduce the @Connect service to all students. @Connect is a new email and collaboration tool based on Office 365 which is a popular "cloud-based" technology operated by Microsoft. Besides email, it offers an array of useful tools including calendaring and document authoring as well as social networking functions. Better still, it is offered to our students for life time.
@Connect users enjoy very spacious email and personal storage as well as other collaboration tools:
- Exchange Online
50 GB storage for email and calendar contents
- Office Web Apps
Capability to create and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote files via a web browser
- OneDrive for Business
1 TB personal storage that can be accessed anywhere, enabling easy sharing of files internally and externally, with control over who sees and edits the files
- Office applications (Office 365 ProPlus)
Rights to install Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.) on own devices (including up to 5 PCs or Macs and 5 mobile device)
The @Connect service is brought to HKUST through a collaborative effort with Students' Union, Alumni Office, School of Business and Management, and Dean of Students. With this lifetime service, we all hope to foster a lifetime connection between students and the University as its name suggests.
@Connect was first launched in March. Since then, new students are provided with @Connect automatically while existing students can opt-in to migrate to @Connect. Right now, more than 5,000 students have already switched to use @Connect. You may refer to @Connect home page for more information. |
