SENG RPg Orientation 2014
The School of Engineering (SENG) extended a warm welcome to new RPg students at the PG Orientation held at the Tin Ka Ping Hall in University Center on 5 September 2014.  Over 120 students and faculty members attended this joyful gathering.  Organized for the 4th year, the event aims to help new arrivals to get to know the School, faculty members and their peers better.  During the event, Prof Khaled Ben Letaief, Dean of Engineering, and Prof King Lun Yeung, Associate Dean of Engineering (Research & Graduate Studies), delivered welcoming speeches.  Prof Neil Mickleborough, Director of Center for Engineering Education Innovation, introduced the Center’s support and programs tailored for RPg students.  PhD students were also on stage to share their campus life and personal experiences with the new students, including social life at HKUST, relationships with supervisors, and participation in outreach activities and conferences.  The event proved to be an enjoyable and memorable occasion for all.

This year, SENG is glad to have admitted over 300 outstanding RPg students coming from 26 countries and regions from around the world.  The School believes that the students will add fresh impetus to the thriving research culture of the School and further drive the School to a higher level of research excellence.  The School will do the best to support students and hope that they will make full use of the learning opportunities here to get the most of their HKUST journey.
