PGS is provided to full-time RPg students to ensure that they need not be concerned with looking for other sources of income to support themselves.  Full-time RPg students should devote full efforts to their studies.  

 

For the 2014/15 academic year, RPg students may receive a monthly Postgraduate Studentship (PGS) of HK$14,350.  For PhD students who have passed their qualifying examination and have performed well in their research work and studies, a higher PGS rate of HK$14,860 may be offered.  However, the higher PGS rate is not automatic for post-qualifying PhD students.
